Hi everyone,
It's been a long and slow process in Toronto. I'm beginning to realize that things operate a little differently in the city, I thought it would be just as easy to get Aboriginal youth in grade 12 but I'm finding out, that is not the case.
Scream Your Dreams has been full of revelations in so many ways. It is again turning and twisting before my eyes and all I can do is go with it, part of documentary filmmaking is being open and allowing events to unravel before your eyes and hopefully the lens, so that's what I find myself doing.
My personal story wants to weave its way through the film but I'm still assessing to see if this is the right thing.....there is still so much to do.
I need to find a space where I can just watch the footage I have and begin the editing process.
The youths' stories are so inpsirational and they Drive me to get this story done.

Having your personal story weave its way through the film can of course provide an inspiring, inter-generational context to the story. No doubt you're a genius for story and probably have thought of this, but I'll suggest it here just in case: Consider a comparison and contrast in terms of the degree to which environmental and cultural connections appear to have shaped the aspirations of Aboriginal youth in the film relative to your own aspirations from your youth (also when a youth leaves home). Any similarities and differences may also be a reflection of social movements in the larger culture across generations. In any event, best of success with post-production.
The following link entails a post-production marketing/distribution opportunity down here in the U.S. (in case it's not listed among your existing contacts):
